CV: 

phD in Marine Sciences (Marine Ecology) is assistant professor at the Department of Biology, University of the Azores, and researcher at CIBIO (Research Center for Biodiversity and Genetic Resources)/INBIo Associated Laboratory. She has been developing teaching and research activities since 1990 when she was first appointed as research trainee in department of Biology in Ponta Delgada. She has taught and lectured invertebrate zoology, biological oceanography, coastal biology, marine ecology and toxicology and Marine Environment ranging from undergraduate (Biology Degree) to postgraduate (eg Erasmus Mundus Master Program in Marine Spatial Planning) levels.  She has supervised several under graduated and graduated (master and phD) students and postdocs. Her research has focused marine invertebrate biology and ecology but also coastal monitoring and planning and marine biodiversity sustainable use and conservation. Her most recent research interest has been marine nonindigenous species. She participated in several research projects, national and international and contracts for Azores regional government.
